Our puppy had a great time at woofs and waves for his first swim. He was hesitant at first but after a few minutes and some toy persuasion he was jumping in and out having a great time. Perfect entertainment for them whilst we have hot weather, he slept all the way home and for the rest of the day.

Great experience taking our doggo here for a much needed cool off and bit of fun. The pool is situated next to a farm and the setting is lovely and peaceful, that is until our dog started jumping in the pool chasing his ball. A great set up, a big heated pool and a nice big launching area for the dogs to enter the water, with a ramp to help the timid doggos enter and exit. The whole area is also fenced off for safety. The girls were great, encouraging our dog to have fun and threw his ball for him. Thwy we're really friendly and professional. It was great value for money and booking was simple through their website allowing us to pick a private half hour slot. 30mins is plenty of time for your dog to have a great time and get really tired out. Fully recommend this as a lovely treat for your fur babies to let off some steam and enjoy swim.

How it Works

  • Each swim session lasts 30 minutes, which includes time for getting in and out of the pool and around 20 minutes of swim time.
  • Because swimming is such effective exercise (just one minute of swimming equals about four minutes of running), we keep sessions to a safe and enjoyable duration.
  • Please arrive promptly, as sessions run back-to-back. Late arrivals may lose part of their time if another booking follows.
  • For everyone’s comfort, please also be mindful that not all dogs enjoy the company of others — if you wish to watch another dog’s session, just check with the owner first.

Before Your Swim

  • Please avoid feeding your dog for 2–3 hours before your appointment. This reduces the risk of bloat and helps prevent accidents in the pool.
  • Make sure your dog is reasonably clean – dogs that are very muddy may be refused entry to the water.

  • Bring a towel and anything your dog might need afterwards (such as a drying coat or lead).

After Your Swim

  • It’s best to wait two to three hours after swimming before feeding your dog again. This allows their body to settle after exercise.
  • Make sure they have access to fresh drinking water and a quiet space to relax and recover.

About me

Animals, especially dogs and horses have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. They’ve always brought me joy, and until a few years ago, all of my pets were easy-going and sociable.

That changed in August 2021, when a rather large but incredibly handsome puppy joined our family — Big Benson. Up until he was about 18 months old, he was probably one of the best-behaved, most loving puppies I’d ever had.

He’s a Presa Canario x Caucasian Shepherd, so I knew he’d be big, and I knew he had the potential to be strong-willed. He grew into a huge boy (a solid 75 kilos!) with an equally big personality.

Benson had done puppy socialisation and attended training classes, but over time it became clear that he wasn’t comfortable around many people or other dogs. That’s when the challenge began — finding activities that would allow him to live a happy, fulfilled life without needing to be overly sociable.

He now trains with one dog he gets along with, enjoys visits to enclosed fields with our 2 labradoodles, and occasionally joins me for walks late at night when it’s quiet. Then one day, we discovered swimming and he absolutely loved it.

Watching Benson so happy, content, and free in the water was an incredible feeling. He swims like a fish — or maybe more like a killer whale!
That joy inspired me to create Woofs and Waves along with my partner Carlos, our goal is to give other dogs and owners the same opportunity to share that happiness, to swim, bond, and simply enjoy time together.

So, book a swim, jump in, and make a splash with your dog. We can’t wait to welcome you!

See you soon!

Clare and Carlos
